Fries are up!

I'm just not certain why I programmed my GPS with an incorrect meeting location several weeks early and not check it later, nor am I certain why I'd not question common sense when it comes to following a river from the bottom where we were suppose to start (not the top) for so far, can't explain taking the time to stop at the vista turn-odds to take in the view when I was looking forward to arriving early for the start, can't explain my capturing the fascination I had of looking at the leaves on the road and why I captured so much of it but most of all I can't explain continuing to film long after I'd passed the State line to the precise moment Rich was approaching from the opposite direction, which I didn't even know I'd captured until I started the editing. The real strange thing was that I didn't feel completely out of place!

I've often said, "Learn to enjoy the scenery on a detour!" Well, here's an example. However, if you are looking for the Cherohala Visitors Center and you see the view in Part 1, YOU'VE GONE TOO FAR!

At the end of Part 2, I was actually parked near the top waiting for others when the camera battery finally quit. I now find it interesting that I made the statement at that very moment about doing this ride again next year. So........................, where is the sign-up sheet?

This first video showing Rich in front of me toward the end was filmed on Cherohala Skyway (Hwy 165), the same stretch of highway on which we'll be cycling for the first 4-miles of the ride, basically from where Tellico River Road turns off and begins following the river upstream. I included this footage for you to see the things you missed unless you were lost!



The second video is actually the beginning of the ride. We were supposed to start at 9:30AM but it was closer to 10:00AM when we were rolling.

 

That is a good idea. I would like that, and you can bet I'll have a much better seat to ride as well.

 

Nice pics A.D., the scenery was so nice...the river was just beautiful etc. A gorgeous day.
