    Well, here goes the neighborhood!

    Never doubted it!

I feel like some sort of introduction might be in order, but let me just say that time spent talking about you would be like road--time wasted! You may only ride on 2 wheels but your road experience speaks of..............10!

Good to have ya join this group, (1960 HS) classmate!

Well I'm definitely impressed. Right now I'm making it around the block. Most of my planned rides for the future involve 96 between 146 and the bridge just before Hwy 3. Once I get to where I can reel off a few miles, I'll try to keep up with you for a short way.

We ride slow......One rider Chuck, went to a Catrike from a CF DF Trek.
Took him 6 months for his legs to adapted to the trike.
Chuck just like to just ride 40 miles.

You would have a good time with us.

I have no question of that. Its just that I need a few weeks (months) to get to where I can ride any distance at all. I'll go with you as soon as I can.

    Thanks for the invite.

    Miles & smiles

Charlie, quite often we lack the ability to Challenge ourselves, simply because we don't really know where the edge of the Earth drops off. But having a friend to help along the way eases the fear that we may be going too far too fast. So while you are working on muscular stamina, why not join Fred for some technical help (tools, nutrition, clothing, etc) and spend 'some time' if for only a few miles; perhaps ride 5 miles with him and 5 miles returning.................., he will not only give you a jump-start on equipping for longer rides but he'll make you smile!

FYI: Fred rides all those miles because he has yet to learn how to 'comfortably stop' on his bike!

Good point. I remember when I used to hear about ANYone riding over 5 or 10 miles on a bicycle, I wondered HOW they could do that? :confused9: Then, out of curiosity, I just kept riding further and further to sorta find where the edge of the Earth dropped off for 'me'.(mileage-wise)

Funny thing, I LEARNED there was no edge and I could ride how ever far I really wanted to...plus another 20mi when I 'had' to. :wink9:

So that's the secret to these hi-mileage guys eh?
