A.D., May I remind you that I have old ROCKET Riders message, members list, and many other files from 2005, 2006, and early 2007 just before the old site was shut down in favor of this Recumbent Riders site. As such, there is a great deal of nostalgic stuff, experiential wisdom (?), and banter that could provide hours of entertainment here. Unfortunately the only way I could get it off the old board was to download it in sections to MicroSoft Word. As such, all files are .doc format so I don't know if that can be incorporated into the site even as an archive. That's all far above my pay grade. Here below are 2 posts from "Santa Jon" & me from approaching 20 years ago; wish I'd passed it along a couple of months ago before Christmas:

    Hi Dave,
You wouldn't know this, but I was the one who wrote this for the December issue of the Smoky Mountain Wheelmen Pedal Notes.

In case any of you are interested in working on next Christmas's wish
list, maybe below will help you get started. BTW, if anyone wants
the Micorsoft Word preformatted version, send me an e-mail and I'll
    attach it to the reply.

    Memo from Santa Cycle

I know it is hard to come up with a wish list year after year, so
this year I have made it easy. Just circle or fill in the correct
responses, then mail your list to the North Pole and cc: your
favorite personal "Santa" for the upcoming holiday season.

    Dear Santa Cycle,

I have been a very good (boy / girl) this year. I've put (___)
    miles
on my bicycle this season. I've worn that bike out. Because of
    my
exemplary behavior, I have a favor to ask of you this holiday:

    1. Since my old bicycle is past its prime, unlike me, I would like a
    (RANS ________ / Trek _______ / Light Speed _______ / Specialized
    _______ /
    CatTrike / _________ / Bachetta _________) (Mountain / Road /
Comfort / Hybrid / Recumbent) bike for the holidays.

    2. That bicycle alone would not work. I also need
    (Velocity / Mavic / Shimano / Titan / Loco / __________) custom
    rims, plus
    (Contentenal / Vittoria / Challenge / Michelin /Schwalbe / _________)
tires to make sure the bicycle is fast and safe.

    3. Now that I have the bicycle, there is some other equipment that is
needed to make sure I am "styling"!
You know I can't wear my same old clothes forever!!! I need some:
    (Pearl Izumi / Gore / Primal / Canari / Louis Garneau / ________)
bicycle shirt and bicycle shorts. Don't forget the (Pearl
    Izumi /Canari Paceline / Cannondale Wind Shredder/ Gore / _____)
gloves. Then there is the (Giro / Bell ___________) helmet to
protect my noggin. Finally I need (Shimano / SIDI /Shimano /
    __________) bicycle shoes with (Forte / Zero / Shimano / Campagnolo /
Look / Egg Beaters / ________) clips for the bicycle.

    4. I know it sounds gluttonous, but there are a few items that would
    round out my wish list.
    I need a (Cateye / Planet Bike / View Point / NiteRider /
_____________) head light for the bike along with (Topeak /
Performance / _______________) bike bag. If something should happen
while I am riding, then the (Crank Brothers Multi-17 / Topeak Alien
II / ____________) tools kit would come in handy.

    5. Finally, I need to transport my bike and accessories, so a
    (Mercedes / Toyota Highlander/ Lexus / GM Suburban / Mini Cooper S)
    would do the trick.

Thanks for all your help in celebrating this bicycle year. I look
forward to seeing you on your bicycle this year.

Certainly an interesting prospect. The only way I’d know how to share such might be to convert the .doc WORD files into PDF files, as PDF Files can be uploaded to the board and seen by others. My guess would be to split them up into years or if too big, perhaps quarters of a year.

Let me look at the file limitations to see what size the board can handle.
:update: It looks like 4096KB is the maximum size for PDF files.
