Cool! It looks more rideable now. I would suggest a mod to the steering. Since you're not entirely happy anyway, consider replacing the riser/handlebars with something (just as tall) but with a few inches of pull-back. On uprights, the stem runs forward, which is great because you're leaning down and forward on it. On a bent, you're not leaning forward, you're pulling back. Some degree of pull-back will help with stability.

Turns out I implemented a steering fix close to what you suggested!
First I got my hands on the very last BikeE steering adapter ever made (by the guy who custom built them for 25 years), then switched to a modern ultra wide carbon fiber mountain bike handlebar! The added handlebar width, combined with the geometry engineering fixes we implemented, makes it a veritable Cadillac ride these days! Check it out...

Thanks! As an engineer, I simply don't throw things away - I fix 'em up! That includes my recumbent bikes and my truck - that truck is a 1988 Chevy S10, Tahoe trim - which I WON in a paper airplane throwing contest at an Oakland A's baseball game 38 years ago! I'm the original owner and spent the last 7 years doing a full "from the ground up" restoration. Its all factory and better than new... If you want to hear the whole restoration story, check out the S10 Forum website... It's every inch the great story of Godzilla, just in truck form! And it's got a Yakima bed bar rack which hauls my recumbents everywhere.

Oh, and I had completely forgotten to post a picture at the Electrify Expo national engineering competition (we came in 2nd). Great day - notice our matching Godzilla shirts for the engineers! Dave and his wife on the left, my wife Kathy and I on the right, and my son Alex was the "documentary videographer!"
