Weymouth: Wheels4All inclusive cycling sessions to launch Dorset Echo

VOLUNTEERS are being sought as part of a new initiative to promote inclusive cycling.

The scheme - run by Dorset Council in partnership with wheels 4 All - is looking for residents who may be able to offer just a couple of hours each week.

The project will see an inclusive cycling course offered at the park and ride in Weymouth from spring this year.

It is open to all those in Weymouth who may have accessibility needs or simply want to build up their confidence in riding a bicycle.

It is hoped the sessions will see people’s fitness levels and mental wellbeing improved. There will be a range of cycles available with trikes, side-by-sides and recumbents.

The initiative is funded by Dorset Council, Weymouth Town Council, The Nature art and wellbeing community fund, and Public Health Dorset.

Volunteers are required to help get the range of bikes ready for participants: anyone interested in the opportunity is asked to call 01425 480811 or email healthandactivity*dorsetcouncil.gov.uk
