Hello. Just found this forum. Think I had more than 2000 posts on BROL. It's been dying a slow death for a long time. I like the international intention here.

Sad but True. The '500 error' that would rear it's head periodically was always annoying. Bryan apparently lost interest a while back & became more dedicated to shiny sharp things than bents. I get it, as my interests Evolve too. I'm putting in a fraction of the miles since the start of the pandemic - sadly falling below the minimums I've had in my head to maintain a semblance of decent cardiovascular health. Hopefully, I can turn that around when the weather becomes tolerable outside. I'm still riding in the basement but at both a lower intensity & frequency than in past years.

As I mentioned in the other BROL thread, I feel like the real loss is the history over the years about everything bent in the archives * Bentrider. Heck, just the amount of info in the M5 thread is a real shame if it goes away. :no9:

As I look around a bit, I see the 'For Sale' section has an interesting addition: the Craigslist Bot. When I was actively looking for a specific bike type, I did my own nationwide CL searches but this has potential. When looking for a small Stratus for my wife, I found one in Nebraska, so I figured it was road trip time. Not a trip I'd do twice ...

Yes, I have reluctantly given up on BROL as well. I am afraid the long term neglect and the inability to do anything about this current crisis is going to be fatal. As others have mentioned, I wonder if there is any way to preserve the archives.

Also like others, I really miss the community that was there. I posted a question in the main forum today and have gotten a smattering of responses. On the old BROL, I would have gotten a much more lively discussion.

On BROL, Bryan indicates all is fixed. I've had not problems accessing BROL yesterday afternoon, evening and this morning. Bryan got some help with the issues. New server is "on the horizon".

I was able to get in this morning but after about 5-10 minutes, it completely hung up on me. After perusing other sites and then seeing SCLee's post here, I tried and was able to get back in. I think it's going to be hit or miss until the server issue is fixed.

Well, I'm done with BROL. Even if things get fixed, I'm not going back.

We've been around since the late 1990s and plan to keep this free website going as long as there is interest. The current RRI has been going since 2006 under the able leadership of AD Wade. (We were ROCKET Riders before then. Recumbents of Chattanooga, Knoxville and East Tennessee.)

Long-time BROL member here. I’ve still posted a few times since the ‘fix,’ not sure if the site has the strength it used to though.

I check BROL in the AM. Hot and cold, some days, loads right up, others slow or I just give up waiting. Just me?

I go back to 2004. It was an excellent source for information. I don't know what happened, but you could see the decline. I got to the point of just check the classifieds, to see what was for sale. If I did want to help someone out I PM'ed them. One time in a parking brake thread I mentioned just using a piece of inner tube with a zip tie, which is all I still use. Got some nasty comments. How dare me suggest something free. Another time I suggested putting a piece of white cardboard under the wheels to better see Rotor to pad contact, same deal. Perry got in on that, he said he does the same thing.

Stuff like that gets old quick, but unfortunately you'll find that type of behavior everywhere on social media. People say things over the internet that they would never say in real life.

My one buddy calls the type "answer guy". When I heard that I started to think maybe I was one of those, but he assured me I wasn't that bad. He may have just been being charitable.
