I'm not blazing fast but had over 17 in the flats yesterday on my 20 yr old steel Lemond. I'm reconciled to stay where I am but may keep my eye out for a 700. Any more significant bounces and I'll be on 3 wheels for good.

The local group that rides trikes restricts themselves to 40 miles of greenway or infrequently drives several hours to other greenways.

The local club has 1000s of miles of rural roads and scheduled rides 6 days/week. They also go on multi-day self contained or fully supported rides.

One group is mostly older strangers that don't ride where I like to ride. The other has a range young to old and i have friendships extending back over 20 yrs.

Which would you prefer and ride with? Most of that has nothing to do with the bike/trike decision.
