When I first starting thinking about buying a trike, I've read a lot of forum topics about "Leg Suck". A risk for trike riders, something I've never heard of when I rode my 2 wheeled M5 recumbent.

Of course, I could go clipless. But I want to go commuting on the trike and my workboots don't hold cleats. :o_O9
To be honest, when I feel like riding I want to go with whatever shoes happen to be on my feet. So I tried my hand at making my own toe straps with Heel Slings. We'll see how this works out, and if not what commercial solution I will go for if necessary.

This is what I've come up with for now: Home made toe straps
    First impressions: they work! :hooray:

:applause: That's pretty good, for inventing your own solution. Be aware, using PowerGrips would allow you to get in/out of the straps quicker, however their downfall is they need to be adjusted for different thickness shoes.(i.e. tennis shoes vs. steel-toed boots, etc.) However if you always wear the same pair of boots while commuting, PowerGrips might be worth trying sometime.

I've looked at the PowerGrips. But as you say, nice if you always wear the same shoes/boots. If that were the case, I'd go for SPD's. My contraption is reasonable easy to adjust.
But time will tell whether or not I stick with this solution or look for some other option.
That's part of my cycling hobby, always looking for new options or possibilities. Making it myself is just added fun. :laugh9:
