How to Search for Other Members & New Memberlist Display Features

Click on the Members Tab and then press the Member Search button -or- you can simply hover your cursor towards the right side of the Members Tab and select Member Search from the drop-down menu…



Once there, just fill in the appropriate blanks…


Meaning if you're searching for other Recumbent Riders in Texas, enter TX in the State/Country box and click on the Search button. Or if you're just hunting for others in San Antonio, TX then fill in both the State/Country and City boxes with that information.

And since the Member Search can locate matches based on partial words, just entering 'green' in the City field will find members in these cities: Green Bay, Green Valley, Greenville, Greenwood, Greenfield, Greensboro, Greensburg, etc.

And from there, you can click on any member's username and go straight to their Profile Page.

You can thank AndyB for this feature, since XenForo did not come packaged with any method to search for specific members. One of his many talents is coding software add-ons, which are quite efficient and useful.

 

I have just added some code to the board that enhances the Membership Listing. If you click on the Members tab at the top of a page, you'll now see this default screen as a result…


You can then click on any of the individual boxes to further refine what members you wish to see a listing of.(i.e. All usernames starting with a 'C') However if you want to see ALL Notable Members listed once again, you'll have to click on the Notable Members tab once again to clear the filter.

Also, whenever you click on the Registered Members tab then notice (over to the far right) that you can choose just how to Sort (By) there.

Note: This Sort By option is only available on the Registered Members listing.​

Once you click on the drop-down arrow, you can then select which way to sort the listing…

To revert to the default listing, just click on the drop-down arrow and select Username.
