Looks a great place to visit Terrii, very pretty. Hope you got the trike sorted out now, nothing worse than mechanical problems on an otherwise lovely ride.

An injun-ears' two good friends: "duck" tape to hold it fast, and WD-40 to make it fast.

Hehe. Not just engineers! SCA (medieval group) swear by it too. Use to make rattan swords for combat as well as holding together. :)

Next post is up. Longer ride (nearly 20 miles) though not as many photos as the horror ride of 4.6 miles. Just 1 more ride to go. I haven't decided if I'll blog the site-seeing days or not.

    Enjoy!

Ha, the construction site I was evaluating yesterday, in Morristown, could use a dump truck load of that. Thought about you Dave while I was there. Half expected to see you out riding, but since it as raining I figured you wouldn't be.

Rode today. Just 5.5 miles of River Loop. Cloud/SUN mix though heavier on the cloud and about 47 F. Silly warm for this time of year. Starting to wonder if we're going to have another 'Mississippi Winter' here in Sweden like we did last year. :tongue9:

FINALLY got out to ride today. With travel, weather, a busy work schedule, and illness... riding got sidelined. :sad9: (Is that enough excuses???)

Anyway got out and only did 10 miles. Last night I had a HUGE leg cramp which continued to act up while riding today so I called it quits early.

Friday I am off and hope to do the Coulter Bridge ride.

In two weeks I am going to Florida as 50% work, 50% play. I am bringing my bent down with me so I hope to ride a lot by the Gulf of Mexico. Can't wait!!!! I'll take pictures and think of the rest of you while riding!!

Been fighting a knee problem last 2 weeks, a result of cartilage degeneration for past several years. Is feeling better, esp. after doc gave me a steroid injection last Saturday. All that said, the 10 straight days of measurable rain should end tomorrow Thursday & beautiful weather til next week.

My plan is to pack up either the Corsa or Catrike 700 (maybe the trike in case the knee isn't 100%) & drive to Cedartown, GA tomorrow late. Ride west & back on the Silver Comet/Chief Ladiga Friday (avoiding the hills to the east).

Drive north to Rome, GA (30 minutes north of Cedartown) Friday evening and spend all day Saturday at the big Wings Over North Georgia air show. Exhibits & air acts during the day including the USAF Thunderbirds, live music & food til 8pm, a NIGHT air show (yep!), and fireworks.

Then either more Comet on Sunday or maybe come back to Chattanooga and do the riverfront trail.

Or I could veg out on the sofa all weekend... nah.

Glad to see others getting out! :yes9:

My previous ride was less than 2 miles. Loke started limping very badly right off and it didn't stop after a few yards. I might be able to overlook a slight hop there or an odd step or 10 there, but when it goes on exaggeratedly for a mile or more, I turn back. He limped on the walk I did afterward, though the last few 100 yards of it, it finally let up.

I've been fighting a cold combined with bad weather, which nixed riding for a few days. I felt better today and it wasn't raining this morning, so out we went. Just a River Loop as I wasn't feeling up to something longer. Loke did just fine, as fit as he appeared to be on Bornholm, though slower. I think the speed difference was just down to boredom.

Felt really good to discover that in spite of some 3 days (or 4?) without a ride, I still felt stronger than I did on the earlier ride I declared I already felt stronger. :jiggy9: Just seemed like a cruised up some of the hills without hardly noticing them. I would have tackled the steeper 'test' hill over by the frisbee-golf course, but given it's covered with wet leaves, I decided to not spin my tires on it.

    Finished up with 7.68 miles.

9.8 miles today. A random sort of wobble toward downtown Uppsala for the American food store.

I think my brake pads might need replacing, at least on one side. It will slop me on flats or on very gentle negative grades if Loke's not pulling. Once it comes to going down something more than 4%, it will slow me, but not stop and practically useless for keeping me from crashing into the back wall of the garage when putting the Sprint away. Fortunately, my left brake is still good. :tongue9:

Okay! Trike parked for the next few days!

VERY short ride today. Even my left front brake is losing friction fast so I had very little stopping power. No way I wanted to take the big downhill toward the river with barely any brakes. It could have been very bad for Loke. As it is, he got to run on the three under/over passes we had to take just for the 2.5 miles we did ride.

I'm guessing my brakes get more use than the average trike's since I have Loke with me so often and generally don't allow him to run. So, every time our speed reaches over 9 mph, I ride the brakes to slow him down even on flat ground and have to keep from dragging him along on the hills that other people would go zipping down at 20+ mph.

Booked time for the trike in the shop south of Stockholm for Friday.
