Reporting Spam and/or Abusive Conversations...

I’ve installed an add-on that allows for Crowd Moderation so members can instantly report a Thread, Post or even Conversation that they feel is crude, improper, SPAM, etc.

Whenever you are reading a Post on the board, you will notice a Report link below the post…



All you have to do is click on Report and then fill in a reason…

When you submit your Report, the Post will be removed from public view and placed into a moderation-queue. A Moderator will be alerted so they can review the Post, in order to take appropiate action(s) against the offending user.

 

The same holds True for Conversations as well, at the bottom of a Conversation message you will also see the Report link...



So once you click on Report, you can then type-in a reason for the report...

Just as with reported Posts, the Conversation will be removed from view and placed into a Moderation-Queue. There a Moderator will review it, to take appropiate action(s) against the offending user.

 

As Moderators we can’t be everywhere at once, but with your-all’s help we’ll certainly work to keep any SPAM and/or improper messages in-check on the board here.

• To clarify what I consider SPAM is, it’s any UNRELATED advertisement for products or services made on this board.(i.e. free vacations, XXX items, etc) Whether in a Thread, Post, private Conversation or an email...it has no place in our small segment of cyberspace. It wastes space, bandwidth and most importantly our members time.
• And to clarify what is not SPAM, any RELATED products or services for the users of the board. Things such as cycling accessories, sports drinks, recumbent items of interest, the things we all use or want in the daily lives of our cycling adventures.
• Lastly, that does not mean we are all looking for advertisements about batteries, tires, raincoats, etc but if users choose to post about such things that may interest other recumbent cyclists here that’s fine.

After all, many of the unique products I’ve come across have been due to someone else buying and using them, and then sharing their experiences about such items.
