Very nice 2005 V-rex, asking $825. I bought this bike last fall. Previous owner had kept this bike mechanically perfect, had it serviced before I bought it and had new chain, headset and tires installed. I gave it a thorough cleaning and polishing, new (hand cut) "RANS" decals, installed a new kickstand, new mirror, computer and new water bottle cages. The bike comes with a RANS V-rex rear rack and front and rear fenders (not on the bike now, I didn't like the looks).

This V-rex is very clean with only minor chips/scuffs on the paint. The paint is flaking off the rear dropouts only and the fasteners do have some rust on them (could use to be cleaned or replaced). Trying to be completely honest here.

I have ridden this V-rex about 50 miles and have decided that the SWB is just not for me. I don't feel as comfortable as I do on my Tour Easy. Otherwise I really like this bike.

    -Truvativ cranks
    -Cane Creek S2 headset
    -Avid Arch Rival breaks
    -SRAM X-9 derailleur (9 speed)
-Alexrims with Schwalbe Marathon tires 20x1.5 and 26x1.5

I am in the Port Huron, MI area and would REALLY like a local pickup, I'll even drive it a couple of hours to make pickup easier (for cost of gas). I would like to avoid shipping if at all possible.

    John,

Sorry the V Rex didn't work out for you. The V Rex is one of my FAVORITE (although no longer made) recumbents. (At one point I had TWO V Rexs.) In fact, I am taking my V Rex to go riding with a friend in North Carolina this weekend.

Anyway the bent looks in fantastic shape and I like the black color. John has a beautiful bent here and is asking a reasonable price for this. If SWB is something you want to try, this is the bent to try it on.

    seat height?

I really think it's the seat height for me and my short legs. I had a HepCat and found the seat on it rather uncomfortable along with twitchy starts/stops. I tried the V-rex and it is much more comfortable but I still have the same uneasy feeling during starts and stops . . it's either the seat height, SWB or a combo both.

Once I'm riding the V-rex, I find it to be pretty fast and very stable . . great design really. Maybe I should see if there are any platform riding shoes.:jiggy9:

BTW, it is not black, it is a beautiful dark green metallic with a little blue flake that shows up in the SUN. I'd love to have a car this color. I have a feeling I'm describing the condition of the bike worse than it is . . I just don't want to hide anything. It is a really nice bike in very good condition, I'm very particular with my bikes and like them looking like brand new.

The V-rex has found a new home. We went on a 12 mile test ride and when we returned to the parking lot it was sold for $750. Nice guy, in the area and may just be a new riding partner as we both ride the Macomb Orchard Trail.

    SOLD
