:goodpost: Good eye there Ward :wink9: , as that's a pretty good price  for a bike with an M5 type seat, suspension, and even a luggage-rack! I hadn't heard of Rebel Cycles , but they look pretty good with several different cycles available. For anyone looking to get into a recumbent below $1000, I can't recall a better priced NEW bike with all it's features offhand. :cool9:

Rebel Cycles is the Canadian distributor for China Mascot bikes. China Mascot sell their bikes to several distributors in the US. Some distributors assemble the bikes here and have proprietary designs. Performance XPR is probably the best China Mascot distributor and they sell mainly thru dealers.

Rebel, TW-Bents, RecumbentUSA, and Actionbent are all the same bike, just different distributors and level of support.

Good bikes, but you have to be leery of which distributor you get it from.

BTW, China Mascot will be shipping an all Carbon Fiber low priced aerodynamically designed trike within the next couple of months. They are already showing up in Europe.

I've been involved with HPVs for a loooooooong time.

I know people. And I'm easy to talk to, so people tell me things that they typically would keep close to the vest. I also listen to different people in the industry and can piece together different connected facts to see what is going on.

For instance, the Baccura designer Jamie, designed a lugged carbon frame before WW did. If you watch the boards and talk to people in the industry, like the owner of Performance XPR who talked to me....., you would find out that 'somebody' who used to design carbon, lug framed trikes in Oregon is now in Taiwan helping to design the new carbon framed trikes over there. Do some follow up and you will see that Jamie's old site has a link to Performer Bike which is a shadow company of China Mascot.

Then look at the China Mascot bikes and do a quick review of the newest bent distributors. Note they look alike and that they say clearly they do not manufacture their bikes.

Do the math and it all starts becoming connected.

    Elementary.....

I am a big Holmes fan. You can ask Keila. Many of my 'passwords' have to do with obscure things in Sherlock Holmes stories. Of course I add cryptic things to them......

By the way, I have an authentic tweed deerstalker cap that I purchased in London....

And where did I purchase this?

221B Baker Street. ( A real Sherlock fan will recognize this address)

Well Bill, You have bit off a big bite to chew. Hope you like it. I'm positive there is no profit in it. Please make me eat those words. If you haven't declared bankruptcy you may just have a new experience lurking. Let's see now, you were going to ride from right here in East Tn to Maryland this spring. You were going to ride from Ca to Tn. Now you are going to butt heads with China etc. My Dear departed Granny that I truly loved told me more times than one, "Yeah boy, you are going to sh** and fall back in it". So keep the paper handy.

You know, I think this WILL work. Not just saying this because I am married to William but because I have watched him for over 4 MONTHS doing research, making calls to distributors, sending mass emails to vendors of parts etc. We know all about reality & businesses come and go. H*** I know, I have worked for years to make my business work and grow and it has. I KNOW he would not risk anything this substantial unless it was something that would take off. Any business takes time to grow. We welcome all the support we can get. This has been one of his life long dreams and I want to see it succeed! As a friend, you should too!:hot:

Right you are, about time, effort, and enthusiam regarding a new business venture.:smile9: I think Buddy's just saying to watch all your P's & Q's in the finance world and don't let things get away from ya. After all, as he said...

And I certainly understand where he's coming from, per the past many a company's performance.(Burley included)

However, I do think there is a difference now from just 10yrs ago: More Baby Boomers are coming of age and realizing their health is EVERYthing in later years. Since without it, one's quality of life is so-adversely-affected.

As such, I think that group will be looking for ways to get and/or stay healthy and I feel Recumbents will address that need in the years to come.

That said, any smart business plan is to keep costs down and carve out a niche in the marketplace with innovative ideas, good products, and friendly customer support. Just as Ann & Art have done with their business, Easy Chair Bikes.

Anyway there are m-a-n-y factors involved, but I'd certainly like to see the new venture rise as a True Phoenix would. :wink9:
