Hi, I'll get pictures to you tomorrow. The fairing and the hardware is all wrapped up right now. I never did take any pictures when it was mounted on the bike, so it'll be pictures of it laid out on the floor.

    Elizabeth,
I just bought a Gold Rush Replica, and even though your sell post is two months old, I was interested in purchasing your fairing and fairing gear. I assume it will work on the GRR, as your 'bent is a Tour Easy, will it not?

Also, I am curious as to why you are selling the fairing gear? What are the pros and cons?
    Thanks,

    Hello Lyndon,

My 'bent is a Burley, the fairing fits that and the Tour Easy.

I am selling it because it's just not right for me. The main thing is that my bike storage area is very narrow and up one step, so it's hard to get the bike into it with the fairing on.

The main Pro for a fairing is that it makes it more aerodynamic, faster ride. Also protects you some from the weather.

    Annie,
Is your fairing the wider version, the "Werx"?

I got a post back from T-Cycle, which bought out Windwrap, and they said:

I think I am looking for the wider fairing. Not so much because it accepts a sock, but for loaded touring, I would like the coverage.
I'm glad you are out and riding your Burley.
One downside of 'bents, is they do take up more space (I'm not talking about the fold ups). I was shocked that when I bought the GRR, that my trusty Sportwork's hitchrack, which worked fine on my Bacchetta Giro (a SWB, though)
would not even come close to the GRR.
Recumbent racks can get very expensive.
All the best with your sale and safe riding to you!

    GR, fairing and rack....

    Lyndon,
Congrats on your GR. I purchased one a few months ago.....a FANTASTIC bike! Thus far I have ridden about 500 miles and continue to learn more and more about how the GR rides/performs on each ride. I have enjoyed other recumbents and DF's in the past.....this one is very special! I ride a Prius and use a Thule on the trunk.......much to my surprise it works fine....especially when using a bungee to keep the front wheel turned towards the car.

Riding the GR with a fairing is great....absolutely amazing what it does aerodynamically. If you are looking fora a wider fairing, I purchased my fairing (wider model) directly from Karl Abbe (zzipper.com)....and had a most enjoyable talk with him about the history of recumbents/fairings. I had purchased a fairing from him for my RANS Stratus about 15 years ago.

I will be selling my Medium GR and purchasing a M/L frame. My 2006 Medium GR came with a used fairing....though structurally sound wide fairing. If interested in a used fairing let me know backchannel?

I would HIGHLY recommend you visiting the following site to consider the fairing mounting products of Lonnie Morse (http://lonniemorse.wordpress.com/about/) Lonnie's products are excellent and a beauty to behold! I use his fairing attachments and also his tailsok frame (which he customizes for you). Even if you don't plan to consider a bodysock, you might want to take a look at using a tailsok....which does two important things: 1. Provides fantastic visibility on the road; 2. Along with the fairing enhances aerodynamics(mileage).

    Enjoy your GR!
    Bob

    Lyndon....a lighter fairing...

    Lyndon,
One other thought. Whether you purchase from Windwrap or Zzipper...both fine fairings....if you don't plan to use a bodysock you can request a wider fairing...but with a lighter lexan material. I believe that most of the wider fairings are built for bodysocks.

You don't need a heavier lexan if you are not going to be concerned about the tension from a bodysock pulling. I believe that would save you some weight. Might want to check it out.
    Enjoy,
    Bob

I'll check out your suggestions tomorrow.
I just got home from mountain biking in Moab, and it was lots of fun, but also tiring. Witnessing a full moon over the giant rock structures, was astounding.
