If you have been eyeing up those expensive imported tandem trikes, but think $8,000 is a bit too steep of a price tag, then get out your tools and build it yourself! For thousands of dollars less than the price of a basic tadpole trike, you can create your very own tandem trike that will rival many of the factory built machines available.

That's a CLEAN looking trike, with nice simple lines! For sure the best DIY tandem I've ever seen. :biggrin9:

    I have these plans

I bought 6 of the Atomic Zombie plans and I am about half way through building a Timberwolf Trike complete with suspension and cargo box. I have enough left over steel to make a SWB Spirit also. I am thinking about building a few of the Loadrunner style trikes for the older crowd that would use the trike for trips to the store more than trips down the trail.

Does anyone else make any use of the Atomic Zombie plans too? Any luck or problems with selling your creations? I should probably ask this in a thread of it's own but I am new to forums.

    Atomic Zombie plans

I am currently building the two wheel tandem from AZ and it looks like I may try the Tadpole tandem (Viking) During the next lull in riding season.
It has been too hot here in the Colorado area to do much riding so Ive started cutting steel for it. But Im using lighter tube so I hope it will be strong enough./:rolleyes9::spinny:
I love Brads emperical solutions to the steering and gear routing issues.:cool9:

I assume since you are not using regular steel(high tensile) you are using chromoly?

no just using smaller tube AZ plans use mostly square tube and crmo in square is almost impossible to find. Most of it comes from aircraft suppliers and their tube is either round or oval. I wish I could find crmo in square.:sad9:

    Square Chromoly ?

The Chassis Shop offers chromoly in round, square and rectangular.

    I'm not sure about oval.
