Wife and I are into Day 2 of 9 on another famous road trip. This time through Alabama, Missississippi, Lousiana, east Texas, and Arkansas. In Baton Rouge tonight, New Orleans tomorrow. Hot Springs National Park later in week.

Drove from Jackson, MS to Natchez today on 105 miles of the Natchez Trace Parkway. Saw 1 (count 'em one) lonely, cold singular cyclist the entire way. Course it was sleeting/snowing and a windy 38 deg.F. Should be in 70s on coast. No bike with me, as the rental car has no hitch.

So far as I know, all Burley trailers collapse for transport and storage.

As to the car, I reserved a Camry-size car a week in advance. When time came to pick it up, all they had were monster SUVs and trucks and minivans. Needed something good on gas for a 2,800 mile jaunt. Was upset. At last minute lady drives in with a return-rental. Enterprise made good on their contract and I drove away with a 2009 Volve C70 hardtop convertible. Got this $58,000 car for less than $30/day unlimited miles. Putting a trailer hitch on a vehicle like this would be like tieing a hay wagon onto your bike: looks awful, just slows you down.

Hope to be home by Sunday with another 3,000 miles of America's roads under our belts. See America first!

My Burley cargo trailer can be taken down into a pancake flat arrangement. Together or apart takes less than 3 min. :smile9: Love my Burley!
