I have a practically new HP Velotechnik Gekko folding recumbent trike. I also have a BionX 350 w electric assist pedelec kit which I added to it. If you buy the Gekko directly from HP Velotechnik with the bionx system they only give you the 250 watt system. I decided to first buy the Gekko and then add the bionx system separately to get the more powerful 350 watt system. Other upgrades include a headlight, headrest, rear rack, avid bb7 mechanical disc brakes, and 2 mirrcycle mirrors. The Gekko was purchased in spring 2013 and rode very little for the first year, before life changes forced it to be put away in storage in fall of 2014. It has been sitting for the past 6 months and now I cannot get the bioxn battery to take a charge. Prior to this the bionx system was working perfectly. From my online research, it appears the battery has went into a deep sleep because I let it sit too long. I don't know if it can be revived, or if you will need to buy a new battery, or have the current battery rebuilt. The bionx hub motor and LCD console were working perfectly 6 months ago, so I'm sure once you hook them up to a functioning battery, they should work again. Again, I don't know if the battery is revivable, but at present, I could not get it to take a charge. I have the original Gekko rear wheel and cassette so you can use the Gekko as a regular recumbent trike (SRAM 24 speed set up) or add the bionx system and have a pedelec. The Gekko alone was over $3000 as equipped and the bionx system was another $2100, so over $5100. The Gekko looks like it is brand new, the only problem is the bionx battery not taking charge. I'm asking $3000 obo for everything.[...]
