I purchased an almost new but used Catrike Dumont from a neighbor - the original owner purchased the bike new in July 2020. I've been riding a TerraTrike Cruiser for 15+ years - the steering on the Catrike is different than on the TerraTrike - the Dumont steering is a bit stiffer - more force is required to steer the bike - I'm sure I'll get used to the differences with the Dumont over time, but at this point I'm wondering if there a safe way for me to adjust the steering so that it requires less force to steer the bike? There's a local bike shop I usually go to for mechanical stuff, but for this "problem" it seems like there should be a quick fix adjustment. Any suggestions ?

:mmm: It looks like the Dumont uses direct steering, so my first thought is to lengthen the distance from the axis of rotation to where your handgrips are. Briefly, slide the handgrip clamps on out a little bit, or purchase longer support arms/extensions.

I had a similar issue with a new Spyder recently. The problem was that the headsets were too tight. To adjust, you loosen the two bolts that clamp the handlebar to the headset, then loosen the bolt in the center of the headset. I only had to loosen the headset bolt about 1/6 of a turn. Then you retighten the handlebar clamp bolts and test it out.
