    Hello,

I just picked up a used CA 2.0. I realized after the fact, the seat is missing some hardware that will allow it to utilize the full travel of its position on the frame mount. In the full aft position the mounting plate on the frame is to wide for the molded design on the bottom of the seat. The previous owner had it secured in the full forward position on the frame mount where it did not interfere with the contouring on the bottom of the seat. I’m suspicious there is some form of adapter that mounts to the frame plate, or the seat itself, that will give the necessary space to bolt the seat without having to cut away at the bottom of the seat, and to allow full use of the mounting plate on the frame for seat position.

    Any guidance is greatly appreciated!

    Chris

I have a Bacchetta Corsa. I am attaching a picture of the seat bracket that came with the bent. It may help you.

    Hi Jon,

Thank you for the picture. It is a bit different then this. There must be something that is fixed to the plate on the frame to take advantage of the seat mounts like me these. I’ve read some of the owners manual regarding mounting the seat. It appears it just bolts to the frame. Not sure how that’s possible without modifying the underside of the seat.

    Thank you,

    Chris

Now you've got me curious as well, since in these two photos I turned up on the internet I can't see any type of frame clamp to hold the seat in position. :idunno: As you denoted above, I am suspecting you are on the right track.

I did manage to turn up a photo of a CA 3.0 seat mounting plate on facebook, posted on Mar 22, 2017 where they make the comment: "We've gone from 5mm mounting holes in the seat plate up to 6mm for a stronger attach point without those **** tiny 5mm button heads which stripped out by just looking at them. Well, it felt that way at least."

I did this today in an attempt to shim the seat up so it would fit on the bike mount. It looks like it’s going to work. Weather is interfering with my beta testing, but I’m confident it’s going to work.

    Thanks for all the help...

Good deal! :heelclick: Just so I know where to go looking for such in the future (for my own projects), where did you source the white block of plastic from?

I grabbed a cutting board from Walmart. I did a paper template then transferred it to the board. I then sanded in the contour of the seat. I may have over done the contour, but it fits perfect. Just haven’t had a chance to really ride it yet.

Thanxx, that's a PERFECT solution for a large/thick piece of plastic for use as a RAW material in my future endeavors.

Too bad some cheap carbon-look vinyl coating probably won't stick.

It’s hardly noticeable, I thought about touching it with black paint. You have to be almost down at seat level to see it.
