home built carbon fiber lowracer

    Elshaunero, the frame looks wrapped because it was. Most one-offs use a male plug. The 'wrapping' effect can be minimized by laying large swaths of carbon over the male plug instead of wrapping it like a roadie handlebar. There will still be overlaps, but they can be placed along the bottom where they don't show as much. I'm curious as to what was used for the male plug -- foam?

    I would think riding palms-up would get uncomfortable after a while. Gunner bars tend to be "H" or slightly "A" shaped for a more natural wrist angle.

    I used a pool noodle for the foam core. I am in the process of making the handlebars have a more natural wrist angle.

    I laid my seat down to 15 degrees to increase speed. This along with a lot of interval training allowed me to maintain an average speed of 27 mph on the Silver Comet trail along the bushy mountain tunnel to Rockmart section.
