Ok Eric, you have my attention now. Tell me more about those custom handlebars, as I've never seen anything like them before. :confused9: What led to their creation?

I made the handlebars that way to minimize the bike's frontal
area. Keeping the arms tucked in like that improves the bikes aerodynamics.

:mmm: So you grasp the bars, with your palms face-up when you ride? Just trying to get a visual.

My palms are more or less facing each other sideways.

My hands and arm position would be most like the "machine gun" position
    from your link.

oh ok. If the dogs are bad enough in your area, you might want to modify the handlebars to hold "machine guns" haha:jiggy9:

    Carbon Fiber Question

Like the bent! I'm studying up on carbon fiber for a future build soon. I'm curious about why the texture on the frame looks rapped and unfinished. Generally from what I've been seeing with carbon fiber fabrication, folks make a cast, then layer the cast with CF and bonds, and the end product has a smooth, glassy finish.

I did wet hand lay up. The finish is better with vacuum bagging.
